Loneliness

Do you feel lonely, or are you lonely?

The feeling of loneliness does not always mean that we are physically alone. It can appear even in the middle of a crowd or alongside loved ones. It is not about the presence or absence of people, but about our deeper needs that are not being met.

Behind loneliness there is often a desire for authentic connection, in the way that truly matters to us. Our body and mind sense the lack of closeness, understanding, acceptance, or recognition. We do not feel truly seen or heard.

Sometimes we withdraw, isolate ourselves, or focus outward in order not to feel the inner emptiness. Other times, we feel lonely because we do not allow ourselves to be vulnerable. The body responds subtly and sends signals: a hollow in the chest, tension in the shoulders, pressure in the stomach. When we observe the real need hidden behind the emptiness, we can discover which relationships or gestures can bring us genuine closeness and relief. We can choose.

The feeling of loneliness does not say that we are abandoned; it only says that it is time to learn how to come closer to ourselves and to others, without masks or excessive protection. It signals a need for connection, presence, and acceptance that is waiting to be met—within you and in your relationships.
